| Master Chef Nooror Somany with Students from Philiipines |
On March 6th, the traditional classroom setting was traded for a sizzling kitchen as Blue Elephant Sathorn hosted an immersive culinary experience for 72 students from Lyceum of the Philippines University, Manila. Enrolled in the International Tourism and Hospitality Management program, these future industry leaders arrived ready to master the “magic” of authentic Thai cooking under the direct guidance of Master Chef Nooror.
Mastering the Icons: Phad See-Ew and Tom Yum Koong
The students’ mission was to conquer two of Thailand’s most beloved dishes, gaining hands-on experience in the techniques that define the cuisine:
- The Art of the Stir-Fry: Students learned the precise skill required to create Phad See-Ew, focusing on the texture of the noodles and the balance of savory flavors.
- Balancing the Heat: The class delved into the complex profile of Tom Yum Koong, practicing the delicate art of balancing spicy, sour, and salty notes.
- Cultural Immersion: Beyond the recipes, the session taught students that every Thai dish tells a unique story and requires passion and “heart” to execute perfectly.
